Situation 2: Coming from the side and the attackers are lined up laterally

Drill Description

• The player with the ball dribbles with speed towards the defender
• About 2 yards prior to the defender the player with the ball passes to his/her teammate 
• The teammate dribbles with speed towards goal and tries to finish

Coaching Tips

• If the first player with the ball is being defended head on, he/she can pass the ball to his/her teammate (focus on timing, not too soon and not too late)
• If the defender is cheating towards the second teammate or positioned in between the two attackers, teammate 1 can opt to dribble straight to goal and try to finish himself/herself
