Situation 3: Coming from the side, attackers are lined up laterally and teammate 2 starts with the ball (inside player)

Drill Description

• The player with the ball dribbles with speed towards the defender
• His/her teammate overlaps him/her
• About 2 yards prior to the defender the player with the ball passes to his/her teammate 
• The teammate dribbles with speed towards goal and tries to finish

Coaching Tips

• If the first player with the ball is being defended head on, he/she can pass the ball to his/her teammate (focus on timing, not too soon and not too late)
• If the defender pushes towards the middle too soon, teammate 2 can opt to go to goal himself/herself
