Situation 4: Positioned centrally, one of the attackers functions as a target player
Drill Description
- Player 1 with the ball attacks the defender with pace
- The target player peals away (either side is an option)
- About 2 yards prior to the defender Player 1 passes the ball to the target player who turned into a runner
- Player 2 dribbles with speed towards the goal and tries to finish
Coaching Tips
- Watch the target player's timing when he/she peals away
- Off-side rule is in effect
