S-Curve Runs

There many drills to improve your explosive power. The following is just one of many hundred samples:

This drill incorporates running full speed in and out of a alight curve. It simulates a player making an overlap type of run to gain position when attacking the goal. Use a running area between 60 and 100 yards and space markers (tall cones or agility poles) anywhere from 15 to 25 yards as indicated in the figure. Accelerate forward and begin to weave in and out of the markers at full speed. Lean into and explode out of the curve as you progress down the field. To vary the drill, position a teammate 5 yards away, standing shoulder to shoulder. Designate one of you as 'the leader' and the other as 'the reactor'. Begin running down the field with the leader running a curve pattern and the reactor simulating the same pattern without losing the 5-yard cushion between you. Repeat the drill and switch running roles.

You will receive a set of new drills monthly. Back to Members Benefits, please click here.
