Taking advantage of throw-ins

Focus on: Distance and Accuracy

1. Setup

  • Mark out 10-yard wide zones perpendicular to the normal field.
  • Two players stand in the middle of each zone, about 20 yards apart.

Pushball

  • Players A throws the ball as far as possible to Player B, using proper throw-in form.
  • B catches the ball and then tries to throw it as far as possible back to A.
  • If the ball leaves the zone on any throw-in, the game continues from where the ball crossed the boundary. Players win by "pushing" their opponents across a sideline.

Variations

  • Players throw medicine balls back and forth (strength).
  • Instead of catching the ball, players have to receive it using feet, thighs, chest or head.
