Taking advantage of throw-ins

Focus on: Distance and Accuracy

3. Setup

  • Form two groups of five. Each group has a ball.
  • Using cones, mark out two diamond -shaped fields that are the same size, each 10 to 15 yards on a side.
  • A player stands at each corner of the diamond, and the fifth player stands at one of the side cones with the ball.

Throw-in Relay

  • The objective of the game is to move the ball counterclockwise around the diamond as quickly as possible. After each throw-in, the thrower follows the ball to the next cone.
  • One player does the throw-in, the next controls it briefly and passes it for the next player to catch, etc.

Variations

  • Competition: The winner is the first group to get the ball around the diamond five times.
