Focus on: Distance and Accuracy
2. Setup
-
Using cones, mark out throwing lines every five yards.
-
Players start behind a starting line. Each one has a ball.
Throw-in Competition
-
Players try to throw the ball as far as possible, using proper throw-in form with a running start.
-
The coach records each player's distance.
-
Illegal throw-ins do not count.
-
After five rounds, the player with the longest throw is named the "throw-in king."
Variations
-
Same as setup 1, but with a medicine ball.
-
Accuracy competition: The coach designates a zone (e.g. the zone between the 15- and 20-yard lines) in which the ball has to land. Who can score the most "hits?"
Drills 1, 3, 4, 5, 6
